EXP3: SUBMISSION

Developed Lumion Environment :

Moving Element :

1. Operable Elevators - This allows students and teachers to move from the above ground bridge to the lower valley floor or the meeting space (folly).

2. Operable Shading Device - This particular function is an important aspect of the design, the shading device allows shading over the wide spread  of glass to maximize or reduce heat and sunlight during the different season of the year to create a comfortable and sustainable structure.

Sustainable Design Ideas -

The design of the school is to achieve a structurally sound and comfortable environment as well including sustainable properties. First, I've Incorporated a green roof system, this is a form of insulation that allow temperatures within the buildings/room to stay cool during hot weather and warm during cold season. Second, I've also added operable shading device that automatically functions with the sun during the day, this features allows the rooms to be most comfortable when used.

Drafted Lumion Environment :

The proposed environment is located in Eastern California, situated within the Mojave Desert it is known as Death Valley for being the lowest and driest area in North America.

My reason for picking Death Valley as my environment is, in its weather conditions, uses for creating schools or a livable area may seem in-participial as thus this is why I have chosen it.

Mash-up of 3 News Article :

We have come a long way since the 70s when ideas about living ‘in harmony with nature’ and concerns about energy consumption first appeared.  In a rapidly changing world with many possible edge-of-control projects, we find ourselves in quite a different situation today. Innovation (and the learning of the new, needed for innovation to occur) can be encouraged through various strategies as contemporary architectural practice is unthinkable without technological advances in design and construction. The time has come to exploit bamboo, applying many of the principles of sustainability Bamboo has captured the imagination of engineers and architects worldwide. As a building material, bamboo makes great sense. It's cheap, renewable, is found in areas of the world where structural timber is limited, in its capacity to imagine, prototype, critique and implement possible design. Our future environments have to be designed to be resource preserving the way we live, stance in support of collaborative innovation, creative freedom and future relevance.

--- Lumion : Monument Environment

Connection :
The link between the two different monuments is connected by a circular platform supported by a series of concrete beams in a star uniform. This is to portray the concept of "space and time" as viewer approach a seemly endless cliff.

 A Frame of Nature :

The immediate site window (appearance) is outlined by a form of "frames" as a concept to capture the essences of an environments element and time as if the scene were a sequences of photo in animation.

Architectonic :
This notion by Kisho Kurkoawa highlights the shapes and structural form of an object portraying the idea
"Support is without weakness". My idea to the monument was to create a form that would appear impossible when viewed but to be convey as "im-possible"
